The discovery of the noble floor of the “Stabilimento Pedrocchi” moves from storytelling and
anecdotes to a dive into the wonderful “time machine” hidden within the historic coffee house of Padua.
From the lions of the little square, one ascends the imposing staircase of the vestibule, then crossing the various rooms, changing style, era, and atmosphere.
The animated visit evokes the figure of the coffee maker Antonio Pedrocchi, who entrusted the architect
Giuseppe Jappelli with the task of creating “the most beautiful café in the land.” It recalls the opening of the ground floor rooms on June 9, 1831, the completion of the Stabilimento Pedrocchi in 1842, up to the death of Antonio in 1852, evoking the glory of the “Stabilimento Pedrocchi” and the events of the historic coffee house.
The story is filled with verses and newspaper articles, encounters and conflicts, envies and successes, paid dearly, with a lifetime of work, by the honest coffee maker.
