The new edition of the traditional “Appointments with Veneto Theatre” series is also underway at the Piccolo Teatro in Padua, sponsored by the municipality of Padua. The series features brilliant works, not only by Goldoni but also by 20th-century and contemporary Venetian authors, all set in our region.
The event kicks off on Friday, October 10th at 9:15 pm with the return of the “Teatro delle Arance,” a beloved company not only for its “Betoneghe d.o.c.” productions but also for its traditional comedies adapted to the distinctive style of Giovanna Digito and her actors. They will present “La casa in tel canal,” loosely based on Goldoni’s “La casa nova” (The New House), enriched with elements of commedia dell’arte, live songs sung and specially adapted, in a show brimming with humor, improvisation, and direct interaction with the audience, which has already been sold out for days.
So on Friday, October 24, “La Filodrammatica” will take to the stage of the Piccolo in Cavarzere with a twentieth-century title, “I RECINI DA FESTA” by Riccardo Selvatico, directed by Simone Toffanin, for the first time on the program.
On Friday, November 7th, the long-awaited performance of Goldoni’s classic “I RUSTEGHI” will take place at the “Teatronovo” in Chioggia, directed by Maria Luisa Chiozzotto.
Finally, the “Soggetti Smarriti” Company from Treviso will close the program on Friday 5 December with “IL CAMPIELLO”, another cornerstone of Carlo Goldoni’s comedy, a title with which the Treviso actors, directed by Mariarosa Maniscalco, are among the finalists at the “La Maschera d’oro” and “Sipario d’oro” Festivals.
There are no season tickets for this festival. Tickets for the various plays are available in advance for €11 (full price), €10 (over 65 and students up to 26 years old), and €9 (members and children 4-12 years old).
