On Friday 22 November, the ‘Scatola Sonora’ of Barco Teatro will host a violin recital in collaboration with the ‘Società dei Concerti’ Foundation of Milan: the protagonist of the concert, the young Korean virtuoso Jueun Jeong, is in fact a semi-finalist of the prestigious ‘Antonio Mormone’ International Prize, organised four years ago by the Foundation and whose second edition is dedicated to the violin.
Her concert at the Barco will be precisely the semi-final round of the Prize: hidden in the audience will be a member of the Jury who will assess the contestant. On the programme will be three cornerstones of the great repertoire for solo violin, from Bach’s metaphysical First Sonata to Milstein’s virtuosic Paganiniana, and Prokofiev’s childlike and naïve Sonata in Re op. 115.
