The Orchestra of Padua and Veneto is celebrating an anniversary that has marked the history of medicine and scientific research: in 1985, at the Hospital of Padua, the heart surgeon Vincenzo Gallucci performed the first heart transplant in Italy, opening a new era for cardiac surgery in our country. He is credited with the initiation of a center of excellence that has continued and developed through the work of Professor Gino Gerosa, who is now an international reference in the field of transplants and cardiac surgery.
This concert aims to pay tribute to the vision and dedication of those who made that extraordinary milestone possible, a symbol of innovation and hope.
The concert will be opened with greetings from local, regional, and health authorities and a presentation by Prof. Gino Gerosa, Director of the “Vincenzo Gallucci” Cardiac Surgery Center at the University Hospital of Padua.
Free admission, reservation required on Eventbrite.
