Esplorazioni Tartiniane 2026 | Sulle orme di Tartini

MAY 23, 2026
Other

Starting from Piazza del Duomo and visiting the Cathedral, continuing to Piazza delle Erbe until Palazzo del Bo and finally to the Church of Santa Caterina for the final concert, the Tartinian Exploration on Saturday, May 23, presents itself as a magnificent opportunity to learn about the artistic, cultural, and religious climate of 18th century Padua, during the early years of Giuseppe Tartini’s stay in the city.

The great musician, who arrived in Padua as a law student, soon had the chance to weave fruitful relationships with figures such as the physicist Giovanni Poleni and the doctor Giovanni Battista Morgagni, and contributed to the rich cultural life of the time, both as a scholar and as a composer and music master. All of this will be narrated in the tour, starting at 3:45 p.m. from the Cathedral Square in Piazza Duomo, and will culminate in the listening of two of Giuseppe Tartini’s famous violin sonatas “Senti lo mare” and “Dì se senti” at the concert at the Church of Santa Caterina, at 5:30 p.m.
