From November 7 until January 4, 2026, the Cavour Civic Gallery hosts the twelfth stage of the traveling exhibition Despite the Long Time Passed… The Nazi-Fascist Massacres in the Liberation War 1943-1945. The exhibition, curated by the Military Attorney General Marco De Paolis, features photographs, videos, documents, and oral testimonies to keep the memory of those events alive.
A journey in four sections
1. War crimes against military personnel: events in Italy and abroad after September 8, 1943.
2. Crimes against the civilian population: panels and video stations on the main massacres in Italy, from South to North.
3. Deportations and internment: interactive maps and documents on the victims of concentration camps and forced labor.
4. Trials for war crimes: from the discovery of the “wardrobe of shame” to recent trials, aimed at shedding light on military justice.
Documentaries and in-depth analyses
Inside the exhibition, it is possible to watch documentaries on the theme, including “The State of Exception“, filmed in the halls of the Military Court of La Spezia during the trial for the Marzabotto Monte Sole massacre.
Why visit it
“The exhibition arises from a judicial commitment that lasted over 16 years. The material collected is a valuable tool for understanding the history and sacrifice of those who fought for freedom,” explains Marco De Paolis. A unique opportunity to understand the history, memory, and justice of the Liberation War.
