For the Book Festival 2025, Francesco Vidotto presents his book “Onesto” published by Bompiani.
Guido Contin, known as Cognac, lives in a disused cabin of the old railway nestled among the forests of Cadore with his wife, his cat. He is elderly and owns nothing but a folder full of letters addressed to the mountain peaks and returned by the sender. These are handwritten pages by a man who signs himself as Onesto and recounts his life with his twin brother Santo, the encounter with Celeste, war, death, and love.
Francesco Vidotto (1976) grew up among the Dolomites and worked for twenty years as a manager of large companies until he realized that the greatest wealth each of us has is time. So he returned to his mountains, to Tai di Cadore, where he dedicates himself to nature and writing, which has always been his lifelong companion.
