Sunday, December 14, at 5 PM, the third event of the CONCERTS FOR ADVENT 2025, the organ concert series with free entry, organized by the Friends of Music of Padua at the Church of S. Antonio Abate, located at the Don Mazza College in Padua. Featuring the organist Stefano Perrotta (1997).
The program takes us on a long temporal journey that begins with the German baroque of Georg Muffat, Dietrich Buxtehude, and Johann Sebastian Bach, and then offers us evidence of the transition from this style to the classical period with the music of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and his Sonata No. 6 for organ, leading us into the romanticism of Felix Mendelssohn-Barholdy, who, however, does not completely leave behind the styles of the composers who preceded him. The Friends of Music of Padua will also present a young Italian composer, Lorenzo Marino, whose piece Toccatina has been commissioned for this concert. Marino, born in Rome in 1998, was trained at the conservatory in his city.
The concerts have been organized in collaboration with Collegio Mazza, and with the sponsorship and contribution of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Padua Cultural Department, and the Veneto Region.
Tickets: free entry.
