Guided tour of the Arena Gardens

Sunday, November 2nd, from 10.00 to 12.00

To celebrate the radiating energy of All Saints’ Day, on Sunday, November 2nd, the Giardini dell’Arena Association is offering a truly special and unique guided tour. This is not just an invitation to explore the area of the ancient Roman Arena, amidst art, symbols, and memory, but above all, an interior experience that will focus on the cycle of Vices and Virtues, painted by the great Giotto inside the Scrovegni Chapel. The personifications of Vices and Virtues, which in this specific place follow a truly original order, whether consciously or not, are the leitmotif of our very existences, as they represent the internal struggle between shadow and light, or our free will. The Giardini dell’Arena, following nature’s rhythms and cycles, wishes to celebrate with this tour the cosmic mystery of the passage from the darkness of the Dead to the Light of All Saints’ Day.

The guided tour will take place entirely outdoors, visiting the Gardens themselves, the archaeological area of the ancient Roman Amphitheater, and then, comfortably seated inside the Garden, we will discover together the fascinating interpretations of these “Arcana” and “Archetypes” through a sort of Giotto-esque Virtual Tour. We will also uncover many curiosities and mysteries, some still unsolved, linked precisely to the figure of Enrico Scrovegni and his magical Chapel.

Meeting point: Faro Arena Info Point inside the Arena Gardens near the lower fountain (access from Corso Garibaldi).
