On Thursday 17 July, at 5.30 p.m., a public opening will be held in the gardens of the Arena in Padua, in the Museo Eremitani complex, Qui da noi il tempo non c’è, a sculptural sound installation by Antonio Panzuto promoted and organised by the Musei civici di Padova with the contribution of the Fondazione Cassa di risparmio di Padova e Rovigo
With the dramaturgical collaboration of Alessandro Tognon, the artist has created a path marked by twenty interactive ‘stations’, a village suspended on the tops of trees without branches or leaves, each equipped with a QR code: framed with a smartphone, this allows access to an audio track that is different each time, consisting of a monologue reflecting on the ‘substance’ of time and the meaning of existence.
Weaving this sound plot are invisible characters now “passed over”, who wish to confront the living, to throw an ideal message in a bottle into our world. Theirs are sighing, sorrowful, dignified, resigned or defeated voices that resemble everyday gestures.
The bench placed at the entrance of the path, next to which stands a mysterious observer, is an invitation to enter an immaterial dimension separated from the daily hustle and bustle, in order to create one’s own path between one life and the next, gathering the sense of a message accessible only to those who are willing to take the time to do so.
