The Federation of Camposampiero invites all children and their families to the theater to attend “The Giant’s Garden”.
An old giant, reluctant to socialize, returns from a long journey and finds a little girl in his garden. Unable to accept her company, considering her a real nuisance, he drives the little intruder from his property and decides to build a wall to prevent her from coming in to play in the garden. Suddenly, his beautiful lawn, which until then had been kissed by a warm spring sun, plunges into a cold winter, attacked by gusts of wind and rain. Only an act of kindness can bring that garden back to life, a small act that can warm the giant’s heart.
The protagonists of our story are a grumpy, solitary old giant, and a cheerful, mysterious little girl. At the center of this work emerges the relationship between these two personalities, one striving to defend its own world, no larger than a garden, and the other inclined to socialize, discover new worlds, and share new experiences. Thanks to a simple, immediate language rich in comedic insights, our version of Oscar Wilde’s famous tale explores the themes of relationship, friendship, and the necessity of opening up to others to know and discover the beauty of sharing.
