The 2025 edition of the theatrical review “Beyond” opens on Saturday, November 8, promoted and organized by TOP Teatri Off Padova at the Teatro Sanclemente, in collaboration with the Municipality of Padua and with the support of the Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo Foundation. As the title of the initiative suggests, the invitation is to look “beyond” the productive purpose of the area, recognizing culture as a tool for urban regeneration. The venue itself, the former church of San Clemente from the 1200s, once the social heart of the neighborhood, now “Teatro Sanclemente,” serves as a cultural hub aiming to build connections between this periphery and the city.
Four shows are scheduled: on Saturday, November 8, 22, and 29, and Friday, November 21, all starting at 9 PM; at the end of each event, there will be a moment of meeting between the audience, actors, and directors. Various themes will be central, including work and safety, human relationships, water and climate change, and generational transition in Venetian businesses.
For the opening night, Saturday, November 8, the program features Other Repairs. Stories and Struggles of the OGR of Bologna by and with Donatella Allegro, with live sound design by Stefano D’Arcangelo, in collaboration with AfeVA Emilia-Romagna.
On Friday, November 21, No One Escapes the Cyclops by Luigi Spina will be on the schedule, featuring Antonio Coppola, Giacomo Casaula, Cristina Mazzaccaro, and Alessandro Musto; music by Ernesto Tortorella and directed by Francesco Puccio.
The performance From Blasphemy to Kindness – halfway between a reading and narration – will feature TOP actors Gianni Bozza and Loris Contarini (also authors of the texts) and is scheduled for Saturday, November 22.
To close, Saturday, November 29 TOP Teatri Off Padova will present the site-specific show On Water, which was successfully staged for the first time at the Museum of Ancient Thermalism and Territory in Montegrotto Terme last September.
