Freely inspired by the book of the same name by Italo Arcuri – under the patronage of the Giacomo Matteotti ETS Foundation Winning project in the new works section of the S.I.A.E. competition – for those who create.
The performance: Two bodies—the murderer, the fascist Amleto Poveromo, and the victim Giacomo Matteotti—share a confined, suffocating space, where piercing noises prevent them from thinking, but not from feeling the horror of the act about to be committed: it is the moment of the convulsive burial of Matteotti’s body. Killing him was easy; hiding him seems an impossible feat. All the comradely courage, incapable of conceiving defeat, the displayed violence that wants to be observed, feared, now falters and reveals the abyss within an ideal that knows only how to cowardly kill its opponents.
