In this story, there is a woman who wants to have a little girl just for herself. So, she makes a hole in the ground and places a magic seed inside. And one beautiful morning, voilà, a flower blooms, within which is a tiny girl, small enough to fit on a fingertip! And so they call her Thumbelina.

It is a story that speaks mainly of love. The love of a woman who wishes to have a daughter, the love of the tiny and light creatures like butterflies, the love of the little mouse who welcomes her into his home for the winter, the love of the mole who wants to marry her. Life for Thumbelina is full of dangers, but also of small, wonderful surprises… With the help of a swallow, she will embark on a journey to discover her own identity, independence, and freedom.
