BOOK PRESENTATION:
GIORGIO ASCARELLI, PHILANTHROPIST AND ENTREPRENEUR IN NAPLES
Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.
The author, Adam Smulevich, retraces the intense and visionary life of Ascarelli: an enlightened Jewish industrialist who managed to combine business success with a profound dedication to philanthropy, social causes, and sports, an extraordinary figure of 20th century Italy. Among his greatest insights was the foundation of the football team Napoli, conceived not only as a sports entity but as a true instrument of civic cohesion, integration, and shared identity.
Adam Smulevich will converse with Gina Cavalieri, President of the Foundation for the Museum of Jewish Padua, offering an opportunity for reflection on a fundamental page of the historical, sports, and cultural memory of our country.
