Ritessere Project October 8-24 Museo Esapolis
From October 8 to 24, Museo Esapolis in Padua will host a rich program dedicated to sericulture and the multiple uses of silk, blending tradition, research, and creativity.
October 8 – Inauguration of the traveling exhibition “Ritessere” Curated by the Politecnico di Milano.
Conference for schools (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM) “The world of research and education in comparison: how to enhance the intangible cultural heritage of silk to create opportunities” With: Dr. Sarah Procopio, Prof. Andrea Caracausi – University of Padua, DiSSGeA Department, Dr. Silvia Cappellozza – CREA Agriculture and Environment, Padua Silkworm Farming Laboratory, Prof. Simone Vesentini – Politecnico di Milano.
October 17 – Didactic workshops “Getting to Know Silk” – Activities dedicated to elementary and middle schools (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM), with workshops on silkworms. Schools wishing to participate in these workshops must complete the form at this link: https://forms.office.com/pages/
October 18 LAB – Mayu no Hana Creative workshops to make flowers with silk cocoons. Sessions: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM and 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Participation by registration via this link: https://forms.office.com/pages/ – Recommended age: any age starting from elementary school.
Interactive didactic workshops from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM registration not required but please note that these workshops are free for visitors to Esapolis. It will therefore be necessary to purchase a ticket to enter the Museum.
