MUSIC AT THE MUSEUM
Thursday 21 June, the day dedicated to the Music Festival in the world, begins the traditional Music at the Museum 2024 event, hosted in the Albini Cloister of the Civic Museums of Padua complex, and organized by the Friends of Music of Padua in collaboration with Padova Musei Civici .
Five concerts, from June to September, with very different musical formations and repertoires. Trait d’union between the concerts is the program made up of young soloists or recently formed ensembles who have already achieved considerable critical and public success, and the choice of original programmes, both for the instruments played and for the compositions on the programme. . The opening concert, entitled Verdi and Ravel: mirror nations, was entrusted to the GOLDBERG QUARTET, winner of the “Special Award of Italian Critics “Piero Farulli – best emerging ensemble” and “A life in music – Youth 2024 ”.
The second appointment has as guest the violinist SOFIA MANVATI, also this young award-winning musician and already present in numerous concert seasons in Italy and abroad. It will then be the turn of an uncommon instrument in chamber concerts, the accordion, played by LUIGI GORDANO, with a program that also includes aspects of folklore, given that a particular type of accordion developed in Russia at the beginning of the last century will be played , the banyan.
Ancient and baroque music, with songs and madrigals for the first concert in September, after the summer break with the ensemble L’HUMANA FRAGILITA’ and closing concert with the DUO ANTARES, composed of flute and harp.
The dialogue between the two instruments will take place both on short twentieth-century compositions, almost musical miniatures, and on a contemporary composition by Stefano Bellon, expressly commissioned by the Friends of Music of Padua.
