It is customary to date back to the year 1700 the moment when Bartolomeo Cristofori presented his prototype of the ‘Arpicembalo con il piano e il forte’ to Grand Prince Ferdinando de’ Medici, lord of Florence. But Cristofori was still a citizen of the Serenissima, so it is curious that – even as a matter of courtesy – he did not think to propose his invention to the Doge first. This show therefore imagines that there may have been a previous meeting between the Paduan harpsichord maker and the Doge of Venice.
Two internationally renowned artists will be on stage for this special premiere event. On the one hand, the Venetian pianist Claudio Ambrosini – composer of vocal, instrumental and electronic works, operas, radio plays, oratorios and ballets – who has won numerous awards and participated in major international festivals. On the other, film and theatre actor Alessandro Bressanello, who has numerous film and television appearances to his credit, including around seventy films and over forty theatre productions presented in more than 20 countries.
