The exhibition “Once Upon a Time – Michelangelo in the Mirror” offers a journey through art, spirituality, and mystery, centered on the research of Giancarlo Iacomucci regarding the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo’s face in the Last Judgment.
The exhibition, which opens on May 24, 2025, in Padua, is a research that has lasted more than 35 years, by an artist and art printer (one of the best in the world in his field), who after sensing in 1990 the presence of a subliminal portrait of Michelangelo that occupies the entire Last Judgment, has investigated the entire cycle of frescoes in the Sistine Chapel, trying to understand what Michelangelo wanted to leave for posterity and how he concealed it, although perfectly in view, in the holiest place of Christianity.
Some works will also be presented in preview, including the cycle “CINTA TENEBRIS – Wrapped in Darkness” by Danilo Mauro Malatesta, and a pictorial tribute to Giulia Farnese and Alexander VI.
The exhibition is open at Palazzo Santo Stefano, Piazza Antenore 3, Padua, every Fri-Sat-Sun from 10 AM to 1 PM and from 3 PM to 7 PM (with the last entry at 6 PM). Guided tours are available: for information contact cultra@provincia.padova.it
