On Saturday, October 11, 2025, we invite you to visit with us the beautiful ancient riverside village of Pontemanco, which ties its history to the presence of mills built to harness the waters of the Biancolino, a canal derived from the Battaglia canal that flows into the Cagnola canal.
Before the construction of the Battaglia canal (1201), the Rialto flowed in the bed of the current Biancolino, collecting the eastern waters from the Euganean Hills. It should also be mentioned that the Carrarese territory was the birthplace of the powerful Da Carrara lordship.
The visit will wind through the Oratory of the Blessed Annunciation, what remains of the ancient mills, and the historic Seventeenth-Century Villa Pasqualigo-Grimani.
Gathering at 3:40 PM in front of Cafè Zivago on Via Ponte Manco 104 in Pontemanco di Due Carrare (PD)
Duration of the visit (approximate) is about 1 hour and 45 minutes
At the end of the visit, a convivial moment with an aperitif offered by us is planned
