Like many Italian cities, Padua is a city built on multiple levels, having seen throughout its history a succession of peoples who built their monuments. This has led the city to have multiple layers. In collaboration with the archaeologist guides from Arc.A.Dia, we will visit the evocative and mysterious Padua Underground.
We will first visit the undergrounds of the Palazzo della Ragione, which consist of two galleries placed longitudinally intersecting with another transverse gallery. From here, it is possible to see the remains of the Roman and medieval houses that were demolished to make way for the Palace. Subsequently, we will move to the Riviere where we will descend and see the remains of the ancient Roman bridge of San Lorenzo (built in the 1st century B.C.)
Indicative duration of the outing is one hour and 30 minutes, comfortable footwear is recommended.
