The Padovanità Association presents:
Evening stroll: Medicine in Padua between the 14th and 19th centuries among experiments and mysteries
Thursday, September 10, 2026 – Padua
An evening stroll to understand how the city of Padua has been shaped over more than eight hundred years of scientific medical studies, leaving indelible marks and traces everywhere; you just need to know where to look for them. Walking with our guide and listening to their explanations, we will relive the history and evolution of medicine in our beloved city, which has had the honor of hosting some of the most important figures who have made history in medicine: from Harvey to Falloppio, passing through Vesalius and Wirsung. We will discover a series of more or less sinister mysteries related to some of these characters that will take us through a couple of hours filled with curiosity and noir.
We will also have the opportunity to perceive the changes that have occurred over the centuries in healthcare and its importance in our city, which is still a beacon at the national and international level in scientific and medical research.
Meeting at 8:00 p.m. in Piazza Cavour; the stroll will take place even in case of rain as much of the visit utilizes the city’s porticos.
Estimated duration of the stroll: 2 hours
A contribution of € 12 is required per participant (€ 10 for members); for children up to 12 years old, € 6.
