We will have the opportunity to admire our city from an unusual and evocative perspective, a privileged view from the Piovego, one of the canals that in the past represented the main access point for those coming from the Venetian area: the ancient walls, monuments, bastions, and historic buildings of Padua will thus take on new and particular connotations.
Starting from the magnificent Renaissance Porta Portello, we will walk along the Renaissance Walls (the work of the ingenuity of Bartolomeo D’Alviano), cross the ancient Graissi bridge, and then continue along the Scaricatore canal down to Bassanello (passing through the locks of Voltabarozzo) before turning back.
All of this will be accompanied by a pleasant aperitif served on board during the navigation, interspersed with historical and cultural anecdotes about the history of Padua and Padua’s river navigation.
Meeting time is 4:50 p.m. at the embarkation point of Porta Portello, with a duration of navigation of over 2 hours and 30 minutes.
A contribution of € 20 is requested (for members € 18), for children only € 10, which includes over 2 hours of navigation and a small aperitif on board.
