The Padovanità Association presents:
River Padua: navigation from Porta Portello to Bassanello and back with an aperitif on board
Saturday, July 25, 2026 – Padua
You will have the opportunity to admire our city from an unusual and suggestive perspective, enjoying a privileged view from the Piovego, one of the canals that in the past represented the main access for those coming from Venice: the ancient walls, monuments, bastions, and historic buildings of Padua will take on new and particular connotations.
Starting from the magnificent Renaissance Porta Portello, we will follow the Renaissance Walls (the work of the ingenuity of Bartolomeo D’Alviano), we will pass over the ancient Graissi bridge, and then continue along the Scaricatore canal down to Bassanello (passing through the locks of Voltabarozzo) before heading back.
All this will be accompanied by a pleasant aperitif served on board during the navigation, interspersed with historical and cultural anecdotes about the history of Padua and its river navigation.
Meeting time is at 5:15 p.m. at the boarding point of Porta Portello, with a navigation duration of over 2 hours and 30 minutes.
A contribution of €20 is requested (for members €18), and for children only €10, which includes over 2 hours of navigation and a small aperitif on board.
