Guided tour in the evening darkness to one of the most representative and iconic symbols of the city of Padua: the tall tower, known as Specola by the locals, indeed recalls the domination of the leader Ezzelino III da Romano, who built a castle with two towers in 1242; we will delve into the larger and more slender of the two, discovering that it was partly used as a prison.
From the Castle, it will become “Specula Astronomica,” one of the most beautiful astronomical observatories in 18th century Europe, visited by famous figures such as Goethe, who in 1786 described in his travel diary the stunning panorama he could admire from the top of the Observatory tower. During the visit, we will have the chance to observe our city by moonlight.
A single tour is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m.
A contribution of € 15 per participant is required (€ 13 for members), and € 9 for children up to 12 years old.
Advance reservation is necessary, via WhatsApp message to 3716890812.
