The twenty-seventh edition of the Padova Jazz Festival bids farewell with a final concert, Sunday, November 23 at 11:30 AM in the Rossini Hall of Caffè Pedrocchi. The protagonist of this matinée will be the trio Accordi Disaccordi: a sparkling set of jazz manouche featuring Alessandro Di Virgilio on solo guitar, Dario Berlucchi on rhythm guitar, and Dario Scopesi on double bass.
Even before listening to them, just reading their name immediately brings to mind gypsy jazz. Perhaps thanks to Woody Allen? Indeed, the trio Accordi Disaccordi, active since 2012 and composed of Alessandro Di Virgilio, Dario Berlucchi, and Dario Scopesi, roots itself in manouche without being constrained by radical philology. The guitarists also wield electric instruments when necessary, while Scopesi brings in the synthesizer, thus blending gypsy jazz, Mediterranean melodies, and Latin rhythms with the driving energy of rock. The jazz that belonged to Django Reinhardt bursts into modernity while clearly retaining all its original traits.
The Padova Jazz Festival is organized by the Cultural Association Miles, chaired by Gabriella Piccolo Casiraghi, in collaboration with the municipal and regional administrations, with contributions from Bosco Costruzioni and Volksbank, and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
