The “Picnic del Mondo” returns to Padua for the 2025 edition of Solidaria. The initiative, sponsored by the Municipality of Padua, now in its sixth edition, is scheduled for Sunday, September 21, starting at 12:00 p.m. at the San Bellino parish hall, Via Jacopo della Quercia 24, Arcella district.
It is a convivial gathering where each participant brings and shares typical dishes from their own culinary tradition, creating a multicultural and festive gastronomic experience. Musical instruments and accompanying voices are welcome to make the event even more lively and engaging.
The day will be enlivened by a rich program of games, workshops, and performances, which will begin in the afternoon and continue into the evening. Starting at 2:00 p.m., the stage will come alive with performances that, this year, represent the richness of over 25 different cultures: Afghanistan, Iran, and Russia are the new entries for the 2025 edition, followed by Gambia, Senegal, China, Venezuela, Albania, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Lithuania, Congo, Philippines, Ecuador, Moldova, Mali, India, Argentina, Morocco, Bangladesh, Somalia, Eritrea, France, Pakistan, and Italy.
The choir of the Briosco comprehensive school will also perform with Popoli Insieme and the Arcella Pastoral Union with Momento per la pace. In addition to the performances, there will be a Kin-Ball world tournament, workshops, and activities for all ages organized and curated by: BiblioSanBe, Popoli Insieme, the Confucius Institute with demonstrations of Chinese calligraphy and traditional games, and Health & Care ASD with Thai chi and wellness. All participants are invited to travel to the festival using sustainable means of transport, such as bicycles, bus no. 15, or the tram to the San Carlo stop.
