“Bach – Father & Sons”
DUO ALTER EGO
Eleonora Bišćević, traverso – Arianna Radaelli, harpsichord
The Bach family, with Johann Sebastian’s three sons (Carl Philipp Emanuel, Wilhelm Friedemann, and Johann Christian) juxtaposed in this program, emblematically offers a glimpse into the evolution of instrumental musical language in the 18th century, sensitive to the significant change in aesthetics from the “reassuring” contrapuntal rigor to the overwhelming pre-romantic thrill.
Traverso and harpsichord, instruments that shape sound in opposite and complementary ways, will represent this interesting dichotomy in the upcoming “Scatola Sonora” concert in the hands of two extraordinary interpreters.
Introduction to listening by Carlo Emilio Tortarolo.
