Saturday, 13 September, a new Tartini Exploration, organised by the Friends of Music of Padua and the Guides of the Tartini2020 Association and, for this event, in collaboration with the UIC (Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired – Padua section). A pleasant and relaxed walk through musical and biographical notes, retracing the streets and some of the places frequented by violinist and Maestro Giuseppe Tartini. The route will start from Prato della Valle (meeting at 3.15 pm at the fountain), to the Church of Santa Maria dei Servi and the Church of Santa Caterina, for the final concert. Here, at 5.30 pm, the concert by violinist Domenico Percetti will begin. Percetti is a young musician and student at the Conservatory of Rovigo, where he obtained a Level II Academic Diploma in violin in 2023 and, two years later, in chamber music, both with top marks, honours and honourable mention. Alongside the modern violin, Percetti has studied early music on original instruments, winning second prize at the “Tartini ad Ancona” International Baroque Violin Competition in 2024. He performs in concerts at the Masiero e Centanin Music Foundation and plays in the Frau Musika baroque orchestra conducted by Andrea Marcon.
Before the concert, musicologist Angela Forin will introduce the programme, which, in addition to two sonatas by Tartini, includes the world premiere of a contemporary composition by Diego Frizzerin, a student in Maestro Giovanni Bonato’s composition class at the Pollini Conservatory in Padua, entitled “Luce degli uomini” (Light of Men), as a tribute to Tartini. It is a piece that seeks a sound light capable of transforming and transfiguring itself. An intention that echoes the art of Tartini, for whom music was a vehicle of knowledge and inner enlightenment.
