From 20 January to 16 February 2025, the Ipercity Shopping Center will host “The Gaze of Women”, an exhibition dedicated to the unforgettable female figures portrayed by Amedeo Modigliani.
The exhibition, set up in the Ipercity spaces and accessible free of charge during the Centre’s opening hours, is built as an immersive journey, including backlit works, certified lithographs, high definition prints and an unmissable virtual reality experience: a proposal that will allow visitors to experience a journey between past and future, connecting the masterpieces of the famous Livorno artist with contemporary art and street art.
The “Modigliani VR Experience” is a virtual gallery to immerse yourself in the famous paintings of Amedeo Modigliani in an experience of great value and strong impact. Entering four paintings by Modì, as many scenarios open up which represent the artist’s experience and tell the story of the painting, of Modigliani and of his relationship with his inspiring muses.
The exhibition is a reflection on themes such as femininity, beauty, friendship, rivalry, love and war, around the female figure. To complete the journey, the contemporary interpretations of two local artists, the visual artist Anna Shalaby and the street artist Carolina “Carolì” Blanco, who will explore the female figure through modern visual languages, creating a dialogue between past and present.
