Poetic show by and with Roberta Durante with Eros Viel on the Barberia organetto.

Here are the instructions to realize a dream: believe in it. Is that enough? Certainly not! Can a writer become a rockstar? They say it doesn’t hurt to try. And what if instead of “saying for the sake of saying” we started to write it? It would emerge as a spatial poem that begins more or less like this: every night I become a singer… and here’s a writer with a microphone in hand reminding us to pay attention to what we believe in, so we don’t end up believing that what’s in the newspaper is the truth, that the trompe l’oeil has turned out well, and that a poetess has become… a rockstar.

The show takes its name from Roberta Durante’s latest publication, Notebook for postcard writers, greetings and kisses from never (Kellermann, 2026) in which all her poetics converge, but it draws from a broader repertoire that ranges from The Lost Kids (Einaudi, 2023) to unpublished texts, including the ballad dedicated to Jules Verne. Accompanying the poetic reading, with the music that Durante dreams of singing, is Eros Viel with his Barberia organetto: a tribute to Captain Nemo who in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea plays the organ aboard the Nautilus.

The musical repertoire spans from Shostakovich to the Beatles, from Noir Desir to Norwegian folk songs.

A show rich in sparks and poetry that takes us into a dreamlike dimension in which, however, we sleep very little.
