Tuesday, June 30, at 8.30 p.m., the Church of Santa Sofia in Padua will host a concert by the Jugendkammerchor der Singschule Koblenz, a prestigious German youth choir, in Italy for its summer tour.
During the evening, the young choristers, directed by Maestro Wolfram Hartleif, will present a repertoire that ranges from sacred music and traditional choral works to contemporary compositions, featuring pieces by Felix Mendelssohn, Heinrich Schütz, Ola Gjeilo, Maurice Duruflé, John Rutter, Anglea, Gabriel, Vautor, Moore, Josef Rheinberger, Eric Whitacre, Wolfram Hartleif, and Dan Forrest.
The School of Singing in Koblenz, active at the Liebfrauen church, brings together four choral formations: the children’s choir, the boys’ choir, the girls’ choir, and the youth chamber choir. The institution offers around 150 children and young people, aged between 5 and 25, numerous opportunities for musical and personal growth.
Recognized as one of the most qualified youth choirs in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Jugendkammerchor der Singschule Koblenz has achieved fourth place in the latest German Choral Competition. The concert is organized in collaboration with the Pueri Cantores Choir of Veneto, an organization that has been promoting and spreading the study of singing and music among young generations for over forty years.
