Collecting beauty. Works from the Centanini Collection

12 DEC 2025 - APR 6, 2026
Other

From December 12, 2025, to April 6, 2026, the Museo Eremitani in Padua will exhibit the “Centanini Collection“, part of the artistic heritage of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, in an exhibition curated by Alessia Vedova, with the scientific collaboration of Elisabetta Vanzelli.

For the first time in Padua, visitors will be able to admire testimonies of 5 centuries of great art, through 70 works, including several authentic masterpieces.

The Collection was donated to the Foundation by lawyer Pietro Centanini in 2015. It unites what was collected over time by the historic family of Venetian origins, which later settled in Stanghella, and the acquisitions made by the lawyer himself since he was still a law student in Padua.

In contrast to the family collection, which featured paintings created between the Seventeenth and early Nineteenth centuries, his taste shifted towards modern art. From the 1980s onwards, purchases have consistently focused on Italian Nineteenth-century art, with peaks of true excellence.

These contributions shape a collection that denotes a profound culture combined with the taste of the moment. A collection of the highest level not only for the names gradually added but especially for the remarkable quality of the acquired works.

Exhibition promoted by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo and the Civic Museums of Padua – Culture Department of the Municipality of Padua.

EXTENDED UNTIL APRIL 6!!
