The Lyric Season of Padua opens on July 29 at 9:15 p.m. with one of the most anticipated events of the musical summer: Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni, proposed in concert form in the suggestive setting of Piazza Eremitani, which has become a theater for a long-awaited encounter between great music and a large, devoted audience. The performance of the Mascagni masterpiece will involve the Coro Città di Piazzola sul Brenta, conducted by Paolo Piana, and the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, under the direction of Maestro Marco Angius.
The cast, of high level and significant artistic value, brings together internationally renowned performers: Alisa Kolosova will be Santuzza, while the young Spanish tenor Edoardo Niave will make his debut in the role of Turiddu, Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar will be Alfio, a central figure in the Mascagni drama. The singing company also includes Ana Victoria Pitts as Lola and Eleonora Filipponi as Mamma Lucia.
An event that promises intense emotions, in the spirit of the great Italian operatic tradition and the expressive force of one of the most beloved titles in the verismo repertoire.
Tickets are available exclusively at the box office of Teatro Verdi in Padua during opening hours (in case of bad weather, the event will be held at Teatro Verdi).
