This concert, organised as part of the fifth edition of the ‘Homenaje’ International Classical Guitar Festival, features a chamber ensemble of voice and guitar, consisting of two established young musicians: the Anglo-Hungarian soprano Anna Cavaliero and the guitarist-composer Giacomo Susani (artistic director of the Festival and Barco Teatro), whose collaboration began in 2021 in England as artists of the prestigious City Music Foundation, during an important event at the Great Hall of St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. The programme includes the world premiere of the piece commissioned by Festival Homenaje in 2024 from composer Carlo Galante, “I asked a thief” (based on texts by the English poet W. Blake): the piece, which gives its title to the entire concert, is enclosed in a series of original folk songs for the ensemble that correlate the Latin and Anglo-Saxon worlds, the two “homelands” of classical guitar.
