The Reggia Carrarese opens its doors to residents and all visitors, offering a new opportunity to learn more about and discover one of the masterpieces of Paduan history. This Sunday, July 13th, at 9:00 PM, the event “Guariento by Candlelight” will take place.
The evening will begin with a tour of the Royal Palace of Carrara and the frescoes by Guariento di Arpo, during which each visitor will learn about the history of the Palace and its important role during the Carrara reign.
A convivial moment will follow in the loggia.
Inside one of the Carriage Halls of the ancient Royal Palace, an exhibition of dresses made by students of the IIS E.U. Ruzza institute is on display, as the final project of the educational project “Fashion in the Time of Guariento,” proposed by the Royal Palace of Carrara for the 2024/25 school year. The dresses created are inspired by the character of Judith, one of the female protagonists of the fresco cycle painted by Guariento di Arpo for the Carrara Chapel, part of the 14th-century Fresco Cycles of the city of Padua and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021.
The events featuring the Reggia Carrarese and its frescoes are curated by a group of young collaborators from the Accademia Galileiana who, with dedication and care, welcome visitors from all over the world every day, accompanying them in their discovery of this small 14th-century jewel.
