The Lyric Season of Padua 2026 kicks off at the Verdi Theatre with three important events, following the debut on July 29 in Piazza Eremitani with Cavalleria rusticana by Pietro Mascagni. The summer opening night featured the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto conducted by Marco Angius and the Città di Piazzola sul Brenta Choir led by Paolo Piana.

The program now includes Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo on November 20 and 22, followed by La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi on December 28, 29, and 31, and will conclude on January 1 with the traditional New Year’s Concert, one of the most anticipated and heartfelt events in the city, with a program that will include some of the most beloved Arias from the repertoires of Offenbach, Puccini, Strauss, and Verdi: music and Waltzes suitable for the festive atmosphere.

A musical journey that confirms the Administration’s commitment to promoting the great operatic tradition and enhancing the cultural offering of the city, with titles co-produced with the Teatro Sociale of Rovigo and the Teatro Comunale of Treviso. In addition to renowned directors, voices, and conductors, this year’s Lyric Season events also witness the collaboration of the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto.
