As part of the literary review Tales of Nature: Doubt and Desire. Eva Mameli Calvino (Electa Editore), scheduled for Friday, May 17, at 6:30 p.m.

Presenting the book is author Silvia Bencivelli with Elena Canadelli, historian of science and scientific manager of the Botanical Museum.

It is an opportunity to retrace the story of Eva Mameli Calvino, an important botanist who grew the first Italian avocado, wrote hundreds of scientific papers and for years gave valuable advice to green thumbs.

The event is free, by reservation only. A short signacopy will be provided at the close.

The book is on sale at the Garden bookshop starting May 17.
