The SuggEstiva festival returns, bringing together cultural, theatrical, and convivial events at the Odeo Cornaro, a monumental complex housing the Loggia, a permanent venue for ancient theater.
Built by Alvise Cornaro, it primarily hosted performances by Ruzante, a playwright and actor he greatly admired. An important site for the city, the Loggia, dating back to 1524, was designed by Veronese architect Giovanni Maria Falconetto, who was linked to Cornaro by friendship and a shared interest in classical antiquity.
The heart of the program, which will keep Paduans and visitors company for two months, is the La Torlonga Association, which since 2000 has been committed to restoring and enhancing places and memories of Padua’s historical and artistic heritage, offering guided tours, meetings, and festivals. SuggEstiva 2025, conceived to highlight the value and importance of this iconic venue, without forgetting the spirit of its founder, Alvise Cornaro, and the deep friendship that bound him to Ruzante.
Cornaro would have valorized the architecture and history, but he would also have promoted new theatrical formulas and new ways to narrate the classics.
