The Fondazione Ricerca Biomedica Avanzata Onlus was founded in Padova in 1996 and today represents one of the most important international centres of excellence in the fields of cellular and molecular biology, with a team of 150 researchers from all over the world, divided into 17 research groups.

The common goal is to promote and carry out scientific research projects and activities in the university and healthcare context of the north-east thanks to the partnership with the University of Padova, the Azienda Ospedaliera and local private excellences.

All research projects have in common the study of cell signals (signalling) in order to understand the mechanisms by which cells communicate with each other to know the causes of many diseases and to develop new therapeutic strategies.

The initiative “Adopt a researcher” which is aimed at companies needs a special mention. It’s a campaign to support scientific projects of high social value conducted by young researchers. In addition to supporting a researcher’s activities, it is possible to follow the stages of the work carried out and contribute to the progress of scientific research, giving visibility to the companies that with the Advanced Biomedical Research Foundation lead to scientific, cultural, economic and social growth in the territory.
